Week 1: First Week

Hey everyone.
So this first week has been pretty crazy. We havent had a teacher here the whole time because his flight got delayed from his Christmas break. So we have had teachers that have been subing and usually only stay for like half the time. And yesterday evening we had to teach our first lesson...completely in spanish. It was crazy. We didnt have a teacher to help us translate what we wanted to say and we have only had like one full spanish lesson if you add up all  the bits and pieces teachers have been dropping in. It makes things way hard and honestly pretty frustrating. But we made it through our second lesson of spanish today. Its cool to see how much i am remembering from my classes from jr. high. a lot of the info is coming back now that i have been here for a little while. I actually understood what he is saying when he asked a question and was able to answer in very broken spanish. But it was an answer.  Since i have been here teachers have pretty much only showed us where to study in our books. but from all the studying ive been able to do i have learned how to pray and bear my testimony is spanish.
So my comp is from idaho.  He is a pretty cool kid.  He has diabetes so that means we get fridge in our room!!! actually two of my roommates have it so we have a fridge for food and their insulin. but i love my district. We have some way cool kids and my zone is even better. I get along with a lot of the older kids very well so it has made it easier to ask them questions when i need to. A lot of my zone is going to Texas. About 6 or 7 of the older kids are going to fortworth and then the other companionship in my room is going to THE mission as well. My comp is going to New york newyork North mission
Funny story for the week is the second day in the morning when we had to wake up both me and another kid from the other companionship set our alarms wrong so we didnt even wake up until 7:30...so we were super late to class and missed breakfast. It was pretty bad..ive never gotten dressed so fast in my entire life. But we didnt miss too much since we dont have a teacher.
I've seen a lot of my friends here: i see bryson, jake, and dave a ton at meals. Ive seen jordan grill a few times as well. And there a bunch of other kids from high school I've seen too.  Just a little home sick but i think ill get over it soon. Thanks so much again for everything. I love all you guys. Hope i keep get to keep hearing from you and getting packages.
Talk to you thursday.
Much Love
